Jimi Agbaje campaign in Alimosho LGA today.
Jimi Agbaje campaign in Alimosho LGA today. The crowd was much more than the crowd at the APC Presidential rally in Lagos Today. Tinubu sounded desperate by saying that the rented crowd were agents of PDP and that if any of them is cut such a person will be roasted. With the empty stadium the days of APC in Lagos are numbered.

Thugs stone Jonathan’s convoy in Katsina"
Political thugs on Tuesday attacked the convoy of President Goodluck Jonathan in Katsina State during the continuation of his re-election campaign.
The presidential candidate of the party, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is from the state.
Trouble started when Jonathan, accompanied by Vice President Namadi Sambo; the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu; and Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State among others decided to pay a courtesy visit on the late President Umar Yar’Adua’s mother, Hajiya Dada.
As the President and members of his entourage made their ways into the Yar’Adua Quarters, the brooms-wielding youths who were chanting “Sai Buhari” surged forward.
Security agents had a hectic time dispersing the crowd.
The youths regrouped and again moved to attack the President’s convoy as he was ready to leave the Yar’Adua’s residence.
Security agents had to fire tear gas canisters to disperse the youths to allow vehicles in the convoy of the President to speed off.
As the presidential delegation made their way towards the Katsina Airport, the youths hurled stones at the convoy.
No case of injury was however reported.
While addressing a rally earlier at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in the state capital, Jonathan had attributed his Presidency to the late President who he said chose him as the Vice President in 2007.
For this reason, the President promised to always meet the needs of the people of the state before they ask.
“But for you, I would not have been here today. It was your own son that brought me as his deputy. Anything that you want from me, we will do it without you asking for it,” he said.
The President listed some of the achievements of his administration to include the establishment of a federal university and the establishment of Almajiri schools among others in the state.
On security situation in some parts of the country, Jonathan said, “We have challenges like many other countries in the world but we are still managing because of our focus. We will get through our challenges because we are working hard and you know it.”
Jonathan asked them to vote for him and Sambo to enable them to continue to work for the peace and progress of the state.
Earlier while on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Usman, Jonathan had recalled that his political odyssey at the centre started in Katsina when he became the vice president to the late Yar’Adua.
He reassured the Emir that he would continue to work with Katsina people to develop the country.
The traditional ruler advised politicians to consider the interest of the masses and ensure that peace prevailed in the country, noting that only God gives power to whoever he chooses

Agbaje promises not to increase LASU fees"
he governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, on Tuesday assured the students of the Lagos State University that he would not increase tuition fees in the institution if elected in February.
Agbaje, said that the Lagos State Government had failed in the education sector, said his victory at the polls would ensure a transformation in the sector.
Speaking at the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of the state as part
of his campaign tour, the PDP candidate said recent West Africa Senior
School Certificate Examination results of the state were evidence that
the state needed a change in leadership.
The PDP candidate, who was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaja Safurat Abdulkareem, described the APC-led state government as selfish.
He said that the educational policy of the state government betrayed the standard laid down by the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
He said, “We are saying that we have to take education more seriously even as Awolowo did. The amount budgeted for vocational schools shows a lack of seriousness. It is hard for skilled workers to get jobs because they have no certification. And we have determined to ensure that people acquire skills and certificates so that that they can compete globally.
“A government that has not delivered on health, housing, education and infrastructure, how can they now demand continuity? This is not time for continuity; it is time for change in Lagos.
“This is a government made up of those who will not carry out any programme except it will benefit them. They said the Bus Rapid Transit would replace Molue, but BRT has now turned to Molue. As we travel through Lagos roads, we see them breaking down all over the place. When you enter one, you pray that it will not break down before you reach your destination. The few ones that are on the road are being used to advertise their posters.”
Also speaking at the Ojo area of Lagos on Tuesday, Agbaje said he would inaugurate the light rail, running from Iganmu through Badagry, adding that it was unfortunate that the project had yet to be completed.
He said, “The project is being delayed because those in power in Lagos want to be the ones making money from it. We will complete it and inaugurate it for you. And in the next 10 years, there will be, at least, five more of these blue lines in several areas of Lagos.”
According to him, apart from direct building of houses by the government, a scheme would be put in place to encourage private developers to build affordable houses for the masses.

Agbaje promises light rail in Ikorodu"
he governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, on Monday promised to construct a light-rail system to stop the gridlock on the Ikorodu Road.
Agbaje, who addressed residents of Ikorodu during his campaign tour of the local government, expressed concern over the harrowing experience of Lagosians who spend hours in traffic as a result of the failed sections of the road
Promising to effect even development in the state if elected in
February, Agbaje accused the Lagos State government of neglecting
certain areas of the state in its plans.
He said, “This Ikorodu Road that they have been constructing for all these years has been inflicting suffering on the people of Ikorodu. It is not designed to solve the gridlock. When elected in February, we will introduce the light rail system on Ikorodu Road.
“You must create Victoria Island in Ikorodu, Victoria Island in Epe, Victoria Island in Badagry and Victoria Island in Ajah. This is to ensure that the infrastructural developments drawing people to Ikoyi can be found in Ikorodu.
“It defies imagination that a government would exist in Lagos and would refuse to build houses for the poor. And all they tell you is that there is no low-cost cement or iron-rods. Did Governor Lateef Jakande build low-income houses for the masses or did he not?
“When you remove the cost of land from construction, a lot of money will be saved. When you remove that government charge, the cost of housing will come down.”
Agbaje said despite the huge revenue accruing to the state, the All Progressives Congress-led administration in Lagos had failed to impact on the lives of Lagosians.
“As a result of mismanagement of funds, most Lagosians cannot boast of the basic things of life, including, potable water, free health and affordable housing, as promised by the ruling party,” he stressed.
Agbaje appealed to the people to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and other PDP candidates in the February elections.

Again, mammoth crowd witnesses Jonathan’s rally in Kano"
Again, mammoth crowd witnesses Jonathan’s rally in Kano"
MAMMOTH crowd has again witnessed President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign rally, even as the president promised the citizens of Kano State that the government, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would encourage small and micro medium scale enterprises in an effort to make young people employers of labour.
President Jonathan, in his speech at the PDP campaign rally, on Wednesday, said ‘‘any country that we are at par with now can never overtake Nigeria again in all fronts-in economic front, in industrial sector, in agriculture; and that is why we are trying to create young farmers.’’
He added that, ‘‘We are trying to create young business men. Luckily, we are in Kano, and if you talk about business, you remember people like the Aliko Dangotes, you can remember the Dantatas, the Rabius and others. So, we will surely work with you to encourage small and micro medium scale enterprises to make sure young people like you grow up to the likes of Aliko Dangotes. That is what we stand for, that is what we are working for.’’
According to him, ‘‘We reassure you that working with you, working with the incumbent PDP government; we will surely continue to improve commerce and industry in Kano. We will make sure young people have jobs, our women will have jobs; and that the economy of Kano will continue to grow from strength to strength.’’
When you are in Kano, you remember what people want. Kano is known for education, it is known for agriculture, it is known for commerce and industry; and that is why this present administration will work with you, work with the governor that is coming, to make sure we don’t just produce food, but we process the food and export and that is why we are working very hard.
Let me use this occasion to appreciate the northern youth for donating N2 million for myself and the vice-president to buy our nomination forms. The donation was made in Kano and we have to use this opportunity to thank all of you for that.
‘‘Let us use this opportunity to also express our condolences to you for the death of our former Emir, Ado Bayero, and also to congratulate you for successfully crowning the next Emir of this great city and this Emirate.
‘‘At this occasion, let us remember some of our great sons and daughters that worked very hard to lead this country. One is the great Murtala Muhammad, Mallam Aminu Kano and other great leaders that have worked tirelessly.’
’
Meanwhile, Presdient Jonathan, on Wednesday, met the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi in his palace to seek his blessing in next month’s presidential election.
Jonathan, who was in the state in continuation of his nationwide campaign, expressed condolences on the passing on of the former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and congratulated the new emir for his installation as the royal father.
Jonathan told the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor that he was in his palace to formally introduce himself, Vice-President Namadi Sambo and other PDP candidates in the election.
He said: “I am here to seek your royal blessing and to reassure the people of Kano that PDP is totally committed to developing the country.”
The president remarked that the country had virtually eliminated polio and should soon be officially declared polio-free by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Also noting his administration’s success in wiping out Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), the president spoke of the place of Kano in commerce and industry, saying his administration would work with the people of the state to enhance agriculture value chain to give more priority to processing and export.
Jonathan also assured the emir that his government was committed to improving the welfare of Kano people and Nigerians in general.
In his remark, Alhaji Sanusi expressed appreciation to the resident for the visit and hoped that his campaign would go on smoothly.
The emir called on politicians to conduct their business in peace and avoid bloodshed as he noted that democracy was all about choice.
“Democracy is all about giving people the chance to make their choice and so, there is no need for violence,” he said.
Sanusi urged the people to accept the verdict after the election and rally around whoever emerges the winner.
He expressed delight that government was doing all that was necessary to provide Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) so that all eligible Nigerians could exercise their franchise.
He however urged government to redouble it’s efforts at ensuring security before, during and after the election as he prayed for peace.
While also praying for the emergence of leaders that would move the country forward and provide for tranquillity, the royal father also assured that he would continue to pray for peace to reign in the country, adding that he would make himself available to give advice to government at any levels.
Meanwhile, President Jonathan addressed a mammoth crowd of supporters at the Polo Ground, Kano, expressing his delight at the attendance in spite of the negative campaign launched by his opponents.
In sharp contrast with Katsina where his motorcade was stoned on Tuesday, Jonathan Wednesday’s rally in Kano was peaceful with hundreds of supporters lining the presidential route to greet him.
He told the crowd that he would continue his effort to create young millionaires out of Kano through innovative measures being implemented by his administration and commended Northern Youths for donating the sum of N2million to his campaign.
Vice President Namadi Sambo told the supporters to ignore the religious campaign against Jonathan and the PDP, saying that as the vice president to Jonathan, nobody could claim be a bigger Muslim than himself who observed all injunctions of Islam.
He remarked that contract has been awarded to extend various railway lines in the North to enhance the business and commerce in the area and beyond.
Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who is the North West zonal coordinator of the PDP presidential campaign told the gathering that the All Progressive Congress (APC) government of Kano State was a government of deceit.
Recalling the achievements of former Kano governor and Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Lamido advised Kano people not give in to Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s false pretences but to vote for all PDP candidates.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Adamu Muazu, highlighted the achievements of the Jonathan’s administration and stressed the need for Kano people to vote for him.
He said the mammoth crowd at the rally was an indication that the negative propaganda of the opposition had failed.
The Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation and former National Chairman of the party, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, pointed out that Governor Kwankwaso stole the mandate of the PDP and had since been lying to the people of the state.
The wife of the Vice President, Hajia Amina Sambo, in her address, observed that the Jonathan administration had given priority to women and youth through appointments and empowerment.
He therefore urged the people to vote for the President and other PDP candidates in the election.

Controversy over Buhari’s result escalated on Tuesday, after the Nigerian Army said it did not have Buhari’s credentials in his file.
Buhari’s school releases his WASC results"
# hope this is not Oluwole kind of certificate#
GOVERNMENT College, Katsina, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, from where Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, graduated in 1961, has released his Secondary School Certificate Examination results.
The results, released to PREMIUM TIMES, an online newspaper, on
Wednesday, confirmed Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of
Cambridge West African School Certificate examinations and obtained five
credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History and
Health Science.
The statement of result was signed by the current principal of Katsina College and dated January 21, 2015.
The results showed that Buhari, failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.
The examination centre number was 8280, while Buhari’s candidate number was 002.
The statement of results was printed on the letterhead paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education and it showed that the examination took place in 1961.
The Cambridge print out also showed the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’Adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.
Controversy over Buhari’s result escalated on Tuesday, after the Nigerian Army said it did not have Buhari’s credentials in his file.
Spokesperson of the Army, Olajide Laleye, said “neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC) nor statement of result of Major-General Mohammadu Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Buhari had, at a news conference in Kano, said he would produce the certificate.
He said he attended the former Provisional Secondary School, Katsina, now Government College, Katsina.
“All my records were in the custody of the Secretary, Nigerian Army, a position I was privileged to occupy myself.
“But since I am now told that although a record of the result is available, but there is no copy of the certificate in my personal file, I have formally requested my old school to make available the school copy of the result,” he said.
According to him, “I have formally applied for the issuance of my Cambridge West African School Certificate from the Provisional Secondary School, now Government College, Katsina,” adding that he graduated from the school in 1961 with other prominent Nigerians, including late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and Justice Umaru Abdullahi, former President, Federal Court of Appeal.
“As soon as the result is ready, it will be distributed to newsmen for their verification.
“My examination number is 8200002 and I passed the examination with second division,” he said.
He described the allegation that he did not attend a secondary school and had no certificate that qualified him for the presidential contest as “baseless,” saying that it was intended to discredit him.

PDP Condemns Attack On Jonathan In Katsina
Says APC Never Sincere To The Peace Accord
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned Tuesday’s attack on
President Goodluck Jonathan by supporters of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari
in Katsina.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Olisa Metuh in a
statement on Wednesday said the attack is “a clear indication that the
APC is not ready to dial back on its rabid desire to attain power
through violence despite signing a peace pact a week ago in Abuja”,
adding that the PDP would “no longer tolerate such acts of violence on
any of its members”.
“This brazen attack on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
and our presidential candidate clearly shows that the APC was never
committed to the spirit and letters of the Abuja peace accord which they
signed in the presence of prominent Nigerians and international
personalities.
“It is unfortunate that while the PDP and other parties are busy
ensuring that their members and supporters remain committed to a
peaceful electioneering, the APC has been hatching plots to unleash
violence on our candidates and members.
“We invite Nigerians, friends of Nigeria and all lovers of democracy to
rise in condemnation of this dangerous phenomenon. These early
developments clearly demonstrate that the comments and declarations by
the leaders of the APC that Nigeria would be thrown into chaos and
bloodshed should it lose the February general elections were real.
“We commend the maturity and the ever peaceful disposition of President
Jonathan and the leaders of the PDP even in the face of this unwarranted
attack”, the statement said.
According to the PDP, "the irony which we wish to place on record is
that the APC which has successfully completed its campaigns in the South
South, including Bayelsa, the home state of President Jonathan without
any incident and has even signed a pact to maintain peace, is turning
round to unleash thugs to disrupt the presidential campaign of our great
party.
"In spite, we wish to assure Nigerians of the iron cast resolve of the
PDP to ensure peaceful and credible general elections where the votes of
the people shall exclusively determine who emerge as leaders in the
general elections"

The General Overseer, Pastor E A Adeboye, through the Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian
The General Overseer, Pastor E A Adeboye, through the Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has disassociated the church with one of its Pastors, Prof Yemi Osinbanjo, selected to be Muhammadu Buhari's running mate.
Prof Osinbano and his aides have been sending out bogus congratulatory and support messages to the APC new VP candidate, claiming that the messages came from the RCCG Headquarters.
The Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian Church of God declared that they are not part of the political aspiration of Prof Osinbajo and never sent any message of congratulation to him or his party. The Church added that democratic and political party association is a personal issue to members of their church and they group sending those messages have nothing to do with their church.
It is shame, that Pastor Prof Osinbajo in less than 24 hours of his selection as APC VP candidate, has joined the dubious propaganda and lie peddling of his new political association.
This confirms a Kanuri proverb that said that, "when a Goat that do not eat yam starts following the goats that eats yam, it will start eating yam".
An RCCG Senior Pastor who pleaded anonymity said that it is impossible for their Church to support a candidate Muhammadu Buhari that openly canvassed and have been working for the spread of Sharia to all corners of Nigeria.

postings were part of the on-going re-
organisation in the Force.
Spokesman for APC in Lagos, Mr. Joe Igbokwe
at a press briefing in Alausa, Ikeja criticized the
Federal government for redeploying Mbu to
Lagos.
Igbokwe in his comment expressed the hope that
Mr. Mbu was not redeployed to for organizing
the political hatchet of the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming polls.
In his words, "Mbu must understand clearly that
this is Lagos. Since Lagos was created in 1967,
it has been in the hands of progressives. This is
a special state where the best minds live. This is
the city of civil societies and the media. We
know his antecedents and if he brings all those
his unbecoming behavior to Lagos, we will retire
him from the Police.”
"Mbu is known for some kind of jobs so, it is not
in doubt that those who sent him to Lagos
brought him for a mission, we are watching, so
before they make any move, we know where they
are going. We boldly welcome Mbu to Lagos but
he should tread carefully."
“We know he is not coming to do normal police
routine duties, but we will advise him to drop all
those excess baggage he exhibited in Port
Harcourt. He was rejected in Rivers, so if he
comes here to abuse a sitting governor, we will
not take it from him. Governor Fashola is the
Chief Security Officer of the state and if he
abuses him, we will run him down. We will tell
him that this is the city of both the electronic
and the print media.”

The University of Benin has demanded that the Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, rebuild and hand over to the university the 18 bungalows the state government demolished at the Government Reservation Area in Benin.
Authorities
of the UNIBEN said rebuilding the bungalows by Oshiomhole was the only
solution to the lingering crisis between the university and the state
government.
The counsel for the university, Mr. Hannibal Uwaifo, stated this on Wednesday while briefing journalists in Lagos.
The buildings, occupied by some staff of the university, were reportedly demolished by the state government on January 5 following the judgment of a Benin High Court that the buildings belonged to the government.
The demolition has however sparked crisis in the state, including a protest by students of UNIBEN, who reportedly set ablaze a mass transit bus belonging to the state government.
Speaking on behalf of the university, Uwaifo said the crisis might continue except Oshiomhole devised a way of meeting with the university authorities for settlement.
He said, “The governor has to douse the tension by calling the people together. My client, the University of Benin, has told me very clearly that they are ready for settlement if the governor can restore the property to the university.
“The university said it is even ready to thank the governor. The university is ready to do anything that the governor wishes for the betterment of the state.
“If he as the father of the state can retrace his steps immediately and urgently meet the university authorities, study their papers, court judgment or no court judgment, then normalcy would be restored to the state. He is the cause of the entire problem.
“So, the university is urging the students to remain calm, not to resort to anything that is in violation of the law despite the fact that the state government has violated the law. Two wrongs cannot make a right. But how long can the university continue to prevail on people who feel completely cheated or offended?”
Uwaifo said the state government acted hastily by moving in to demolish the contentious buildings when the 90 days allowed by the law for appeal had not been exhausted.
According to Uwaifo, after the judgment was given on December 16, the university had immediately filed an appeal on December 17 and followed by application for stay of execution on December 19 but the state government had claimed not to have been served the processes.
“But the issue of whether the processes were properly served or not resides with the court, and not with any of the parties. If by the time we get to court and the court says these processes were not properly served, that would have been the case. But the Edo State government led by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and some thugs went hastily to demolish the buildings,” Uwaifo said.
He debunked the claim by the state government that the university had been intending to sell off the properties.

A MUST READ PASTOR PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO AND "INTEGRITY
I respect the decision of those Christians who support Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. It is their prerogative to do so. My opposition to Gen. Buhari has nothing to do with his being a Muslim. Those who follow my Facebook posts know that I have been advocating that Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, the Governor of Gombe State, should become Nigeria's President in 2019 after President Goodluck Jonathan's second term. Alhaji Dankwambo is a Muslim Fulani but he is very sound. He is very intelligent, professional, urbane, focused, visionary and, more importantly, he is not an Islamist.
What do I have against Isalmist? An Islamist is a Muslim fundamentalist who subscribes to Political Islam based on the Wahabbist and Salafist schools of thought. They believe that Sharia Law should govern society and they try to impose their beliefs on the educational system, media, culture, politics, the economy and all aspects of life. Some Islamists are violent and have terrorism as in their main agenda. But most Islamists are subtle. They are found in the academia, financial institution, politics and other pursuits. They are non-violent in the main but are just as dangerous as their terrorist peers. You would never suspect that they are Islamists because they are strategic in their operations.
The most dangerous human beings on earth today are Islamists. Even Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. are afraid of Islamists and some of them have legislation against Islamism. The Muslim Brotherhood was banned in Egypt for this reason.
Some people think only known terrorist organisations such as ISIS/ISIL, Boko Haram, Al Shabab, Al Qaeda etc. are dangerous. The insidious brand of Islamism is actually more lethal.
Let no one be deceived by the satanic conspiracy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) orchestrated by Asuwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a "progressive" and will bring about "change" as Nigeria's President.
Gen. Buhari is an Islamist jihadist who operates TAQQIYYA; the Islamic Doctrine of "Holy" Deception. Till date he has not recanted the statement he made in January, 2002, at the closing ceremony of a Koranic Recitation Competition held in Gusau, Zamfara State, where he applauded the Sharia which then Gov. Sani Yerima introduced and he called on all Muslims in Nigeria to vote only for a Muslim President in the 2003 Election who would promote the interest of Islam. Please google it.
It was in 2001 in Kaduna that Gen. Buhari said he would continue to promote the TOTAL implementation of Sharia in the entire country of Nigeria. Also google it.
Christians are often naive politically. In the north, Muslim clerics have been promoting Gen. Buhari as the Candidate of Islam. But in the south, APC has successfully recruited southern Christian leaders and Pastors to sell the lie that "Buhari is not a fundamentalist" despite the obvious evidence that he is. They also push the lie that Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a "man of integrity" and would be the defacto President since Gen. Muhammadu Buhari always cedes actual administration of whatever is placed under his responsibility to his immediate subordinate.
Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is no doubt a very intelligent academic but he is Tinubu's lackey who helps him in all the legal schemes to cover up his looting of Lagos. Prof. Osinbajo makes hundreds of millions of Naira annually just by handling Tinubu's legal matters. He sold out to mammon long ago! He represents only himself.
For the first time, I am now going to disclose publicly my own experience with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo which convinced me that he is not the man he has been hyped to be.
In April-July, 2011, I was part of those whom God chose to use to resist the blatant attempt by Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to impose Malaysia-style Islamic Banking on Nigeria contrary to the Constitution and the provisions of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act. Under the auspices of Church For Change (a ministers network led by Pastor Wale Adefarasin, Pastor Tony Rapu and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo) and
Apostles in the Market Place (a network of Christian profesionals and businessmen led by Pastor John Enelamah), we organised a Seminar in June, 2011, in Lagos on Non-Interest Banking. Dr. Kingsley Moghalu who was then the Deputy Governor of the CBN in charge of Financial System Stability was in attendance representing Emir Sanusi who was then the CBN Governor. I was one of the speakers at the event. Other speakers were Brett Johnson of the Institute, U. S. A., and Prof. Bankole Sodipo. Dr. Moghalu spoke too. My first surprise was that Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was absent at the seminar. He was essentially part of our organising committee and might even have spoken during the seminar. When I enquired about him I was told he was at the Election Tribunal representing Mrs Oluremi Tinubu whose election as a Senator was being contested. I wondered then why he did not send someone from his law firm to the Tribunal that day since the case would continue thereafter but our seminar was a one-day event. Many of us had equally left other pressing matters to be at the seminar that day.
After the seminar, we decided that we would sue the CBN as it became clear that Emir Sanusi had an agenda and would not accede to our position that the CBN issue a uniform guideline on Non-Interest Banking which focused on the prudential regulations, risk management and such other banking issues while leaving the religious aspects to individual religious bodies to regulate. I was to be the plaintiff since I had locus standi having applied to the CBN in 2005 for a licence for my Company, Pharez Ltd., to set up a Profit and Loss Sharing Banking (the term actually used in Nigeria's Banking Act). In fact, I actually got involved in the Non-Interest Banking saga initially out of self-interest. The CBN Non-Interest Banking Guidelines were going to make it impossible for a non-Muslim to establish a Non-Interest Banking institution.
Pastor Wale Adefarasin mandated Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to serve as our lawyer in the case against the CBN. He duly prepared the necessary legal papers but failed to file them at the court......till date. What we didn't realise then was that he was conflicted being a lackey of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a leading Muslim politician! The devil used Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to stop our litigation!
And, today, Islamic Banking is continuing even though Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja, gave judgment in another case in 2013 declaring that Islamic Banking was illegal and unconstitutional. He gave an orbiter dictum saying that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice should compel the CBN to cancel the licence it issued to Jaiz Bank for Islamic Banking and that the CBN should comply with the extant laws of the land. The Judge said the plaintiff in that case had no locus standi so he could not grant the prayers he made in his affidavit filing the suit. He could only give an orbiter dictum which is not legally binding.
Who is the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice? Alhaji Mohammed Adoki. As a devout Muslim, he simply ignored the judgment and the orbiter dictum. The CBN just pretended that it was not even aware of the case much more the judgment given by Justice Gabriel Kolawole.
Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo cannot be trusted to speak for the Church and Christians even if he did become the Vice President. He represents only himself and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
May God have mercy upon Nigeria and not allow our beloved country to be delivered into the hands of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. May Gen. Muhammadu Buhari never become the President of Nigeria in Jesus' Name. Amen!
So I remain resolute to do my part to ensure that......

Three percent budget by Fashola on Primary education is faulty - Agbaje"
In the area of housing, Agbaje maintained that 70 per cent of Lagos was a slum due to deficit in housing units. He said due to the scarcity of land it would be wise to build storey buildings instead of bungalows so that more people could be accommodated.
He said Lagos State was one of the worst places to do business in Nigeria because it was the hardest city to get a construction permit.
In education, Agbaje said the current budget was faulty as only three per cent was dedicated to primary education.
He said the state had a leadership problem due to “vested interest,” promising an equitable distribution of wealth if elected into office.
He said, “All we do with the education budget is to pay salaries and overheads. There is no way that education is going to change. The education of today is not for the factory but for innovation. I tell the younger ones that those who have changed the world have done so not with university education but from the basic education that they received at the primary and secondary levels but today we have a situation where (out) of our budget, this government spends three per cent on primary education.”
Agbaje said, “We spent little or nothing on primary education and that is the problem because once you lack that foundation, you will build on nothing. We believe it is time to rejig those figures and give our children the foundation that is required rather than a situation where you are spending money on a people that are already handicapped.
“You talk about housing because Lagos today, going by reports, is 70 per cent slum. And when I say slum, you understand what I mean and that is because we have not got our housing right. Lagos needs over 200,000 units every year. Lagos State by its own admission, from 1999 till date has built about 25,000 units.”

Beware of Obasanjo’s antics, Fayose warns Nigerians"
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has warned Nigerians to be wary of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s intention on who should be elected president in the February 14 election.
Fayose said the North deserved to present a better candidate and not an old candidate such as Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
In a statement on Thursday, the governor said Obasanjo should also be watched for his romance with some leaders in the All Progressives Congress despite claiming to be a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He said, “Nigerians should be wary of Obasanjo’s banana peel. He was the one who put forward Umar Yar‘Adua as the President, knowing the man’s state of health and the man died in office. He was the one who said President Goodluck Jonathan was the best for Nigeria and that without him there would be no Nigeria.
“The question people should ask former President Obasanjo is what has gone wrong between now and then? He is against President Jonathan because the President refused to be pocketed by him, and any Nigerian leader who wants to succeed will not allow that.
“Obasanjo is now presenting Buhari as the best candidate for Nigeria knowing the man’s age and that the pressure of office would be too much for

Jonathan Campaigns In Imo Saturday
THE Federal Government is expected to inaugurate the N5 billion silo project located in Okigwe, Imo State, later in the year, the Minister of state for Education, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, has disclosed.
Receiving members of the Association of Motorcycles and Tricycles Transporters, Imo State (AMTT), led by their chairman, Mr. Christopher Egwuasi, the minister appealed to Imo people to give President Goodluck Jonathan, total support, adding that contrary to the views of opposition, the Federal Government, through President Jonathan had completed the construction of N5 billion silos investment.
The campaign visit of the president is to take place at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, said Onwuliri.
Onwuliri, accompanied by the Nigeria’s ambassador to Hungary, Dr. Eddie Oluoha, a chieftain of the PDP, Marshal Okoroafor- Anyanwu, among others, commending the AMTT for giving award of endorsement on the president and herself, promising to end the alleged attack and orchestrated harassment of the group by a reported agents of the Imo State government, even after the association won the state government in their case in the court.
The Minister promised that the Federal Government would wade into the incessant harassment of their members
INEC weighs options on fresh voter registration"
INEC weighs options on fresh voter registration"
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said it was still considering fresh voter registration for eligible persons yet to register and for those with Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) problem.
Mr Emmanuel Idakwo, the Head of INEC office in Abuja Municipal Area Council, Karu, gave this hint in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja.
Idakwo said that many unregistered persons trooped into INEC office daily with various complaints, adding that the situation had put the commission under pressure which may engender fresh registration for few days.
He said that there were people with Temporary Voter’s Cards (TVCs) but whose names were not found in the PVC register.
He explained that such category of persons could be allowed to have new registration to enable them to exercise their rights during the elections.
Idakwo said that aside from the pressure from individuals, the commission was also mindful of President Goodluck Jonathan’s directive that every eligible Nigerian must be allowed to vote.
‘’There is need for such people to be given the chance to register,’’ he said.
On TVC holders whose names were missing in the permanent voters’ register, he said the problem may have arisen from absence of their thumb print on the temporary cards.
According to him, such people cannot find their names on the PVC register and need to undertake new registration.
On whether INEC would allow the use of temporary card holders to vote in the elections, Idakwo said that the only way it would be permitted ‘’is when the PVCs for the affected TVCs are not ready for collection.
“But in a case where the PVCs are available in the various offices of INEC in the country, why can’t these persons with their TVCs go and collect their PVCs,” he said.
He therefore advised persons yet to collect their PVCs to go to centres where they registered and collect the new cards.
He stated that collection centres in the country had been decentralised to ease collection of the PVCs.

PDP Won’t Allow Desperate Politicians To Rule, Says Aliyu"
SENATE President David Mark and Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu Friday said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would not allow desperate politicians to take over the affairs of the country this year, adding that the party would campaign hard and ensure victory for its candidates, so that they would continue the transformation of the county.
They also described those who left the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as
selfish politicians who don’t have the interest of the country at heart.
They spoke in Mangu Council of Plateau State during the official flag- off campaign for Senator Gyang Pwajok, the PDP gubernatorial candidate of Plateau State.
“In the PDP, we cannot succumb to cheap blackmail with people who can’t play politics the way it is supposed to be played. The PDP has done a lot in transforming the country and would continue to do so. We are calling on the people of the state to come out en masse come February 14 to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan,” Aliyu said.
Also speaking at the occasion, Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswan, said the North Central Zone would ensure victory for President Jonathan at the polls.
“We in the North Central are like a family and we would deliver our President,” he said and urged people in the zone to forget about the propaganda of the APC and work for the victory of the PDP.
He said: “Our presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan, has the interest of the country at heart and would continue transforming the nation if he is re-elected.”
Mark, who was the chairman of the occasion, said the PDP would win with transparent votes in the forthcoming elections. “North Central is for President Jonathan and we will continue to support him and the party always,” he said and cautioned youths against playing politics of violence. He implored them to get their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) so that they won’t be disenfranchised at the polls.
The gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Plateau, Senator Gyang Pwajok, in his speech, called on people of the state to work for victory of the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
He also tasked citizens of the state to always be their brothers’ keepers regardless of tribe and religion and pledged to consolidate on the achievements of the state governor, Jonah Jang if elected.
The Director General of Pwajok Campaign Organisation, Mr. Daniel Kungmi, who also spoke at the occasion, said Plateau has been a traditional home of the PDP and would not afford to fail the party this time around.
“We would go from door to door to campaign for our party and ensure victory for President Goodluck Jonathan and Pwajok. We would ensure that we deliver President Goodluck Jonathan with over two million votes,” he enthused.
Oil Price Fall: Nigeria Loses $62.8m In One Month"
Oil Price Fall: Nigeria Loses $62.8m In One Month"
THE crude oil price slump globally has continued to take its toll on Nigeria’s revenue, leading to loss of over $62.8 million revenue between November and December last year. And the development has led to a further dip in part of the country’s fiscal buffers – the Excess Crude Account (ECA) slid further down from its $3.1 billion level last month to $2.49billion.
The dip followed another withdrawal from the account by the joint Federal and States
Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) Friday to buoy the low revenue generation for the month of December which was distributed Friday. The value of the deduction from the account in Naira value was N15.631 billion which boosted the amount distributed yesterday to N580.378 billion.
Minister of State Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda who is also the FAAC Chairman, told journalists at the end of the FAAC meeting that following the withdrawal, what is left in the ECA is now $2.49 billion. He added that the imagined effect of the consequence of the crude oil price fall has really begun to take effect on Nigeria.
He spoke as states in Nigeria yesterday said following dwindling revenue from the Federation Account, they have begun strategizing on how to cut down on the cost of governance at their level, including the downward review of perks to political appointees and the abolition of food imports as a way of saving funds.
While the states spoke through Mr. Timothy Odah who is the Chairman of States’ Finance
Commissioners’ Forum at the FAAC Meeting, Mr. Enweagbara, who equally spoke in Abuja, was reacting to the country’s worsening liquidity situation.
The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) Mr. Jonah Otunla at the FAAC Meeting gave an insight into the oil revenue crash and the reason for the further withdrawal of funds from the ECA.
“The gross revenue of N490.031 billion received for the month of was lower than the N500.076 billion received in the previous month by N10.045 billion. A 12 per cent drop in crude oil prices from $87.8 million in October to $77.5 million in November leading to $62.8 million in revenue loss and a 52 per cent loss in volume coupled with 31 per cent price drop culminating in a total revenue loss from the LPNG/NLG October sale all contributed negatively to the Federation Equity,” Otunla said.
He continued: “The persistence of the Force Majeure declared by Shell since June, 2014 and the shut down and shut-in of trunks and pipelines at various terminals also impacted negatively on the revenue performance. Also, non-oil revenue dipped due partly to the fact that the timeline for the payment of taxes by many companies is yet to fall due.
“Accordingly, the distributable statutory revenue for the month is N474.400 billion. The sum of N6.330 billion was refunded by NNPC to the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).
“Also, there is exchange gain again of N10.551 billion which is proposed for distribution .
Additional amount of N15.631 billion from ECA is proposed for distribution. The total
revenue distributable for the current month including VAT is N580.378 billion”.
A breakdown of the revenue distributed indicated that the Federal Government went home with the sum of N220.484 billion from the Statutory Revenue, representing its 52.68 per cent share and another sum of N10.579 billion from the VAT window; the States, N111.832 billion, representing their 26.72 per cent share of the statutory revenue and another N35.264 billion from the VAT revenue stream while the 774 local councils in the country are to share the sum of N86.218 billion of the Statutory Revenue , which represents their 20.60 per cent share under the revenue formula and another sum of N10.759 billion from VAT pool.
Oil-bearing communities also went home with the sum of N47.221 billion, representing 13 per cent of derivation principle.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Finance Commissioner’s Forum and Commissioner representing Ebonyi State at the FAAC, Mr. Timothy Odah has declared that because of the dwindling revenue stream of income from the Federation Account, states are left with no option than to review perks attached to political appointees at that level as well as changing their consumption appetite as a strategy to remain afloat and carry out the function of governance
The Reality of Second Niger Bridge
The Reality of Second Niger Bridge
Never in the history of Nigeria has such development taken place. Former President Olusegun
Obasanjo failed woefully as he promised to construct the second Niger Bridge for eight years
without even signing the contract. The second Niger Bridge is now being constructed.
Attached to this post are proof of construction work at the site of the Second Niger Bridge.
Anyone in doubt should visit to construction location.
In the North Central, Jonathan is almost completing the construction of the Oweto-Loko
Bridge. The project site is bubbing with work just like the site of the second Niger Bridge.
To improve commerce in the South-East, the Onitsha River Port came on stream earlier in the
administration in addition to the dredging of the River Niger.

3, 2014, Nigeria scored 27 out of out of a maximum 100
marks to clinch 136th position out of the 175 countries
surveyed. This means that Nigeria has ‘improved’ by eight
points against its 2013 rating as 144th out of 175 countries.
A statement issued from the Berlin office of Transparency
International shows that more than two-thirds or over 75
percent of the 175 countries surveyed this year scored below
50, on a scale from 0. Countries within the 0-50 range are
perceived to be strikingly corrupt.
RAIL
TRANSPORT: Over 15 years, Rail transport

POWER: Privatised PHCN and Power Generating
Plants undergoing constructions in different states. 37 large
dams completed nationwide, 10 dams rehabilitaed and 49
dams being built nationwide.
Economy: Nigerian economy was rebased and became
biggest economy in Africa, overtaking South Africa.
Previous leaders didn't see the need to do this. Single digit
inflation and sustained growth in economy. Nigeria's
economy is the 26th largest in the world.
In 2013, IMF classified Nigeria as a Middle Income Nation
from the Low Income Nation it had been all the while. IMF
also said that hunger has reduced in Nigeria under Jonathan
from 16% to 14.1%. KPMG also listed Nigeria's interstate
High Speed Rail project as one of the world’s top 100
infrastructure projects.
The rail system which is currently under construction would
connect all states of Nigeria to one another.
Economic growth has been at a constant minimum of 6%per
annum in the lsat 3 years Agriculture has grown considerably,
Nigeria imports less food and produces more than enough for
export.
The airports now wear new looks unlike before when they
looked like Oshodi bus stop of the OBJ era. Elections are now
free and fair and no snatching of ballot boxes.
Some horribly sentimental people would not do the needful
which is to try to verify these things, they would still continue
on their hateful trajectory.
In all of these things that the GOD chosen has done, indeed he
deserve a second tenure in the office of the presidency. Vote
for the GOD chosen, President Goodluck Jonathan

Jonathan seeks deployment of military moles"
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has said there are moles among the personnel of the Nigerian military betraying the nation in the current war against insurgency, directing that any personnel suspected to be such an agent should be redeployed immediately.
“It is the situation in all sectors of government all over the world, so it is the duty of the officers to detect those who are working against and those who are committed to the country early enough. The officers must be smart to quickly detect those who will betray others, a betrayal that may lead to massive death of officers when they are in operations.”
Jonathan spoke Wednesday in Abuja at the commissioning of the new National Cenotaph at the military cemetery in Abuja as part of activities to mark the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The President, who was apparently reacting to the reports among security circles that the Boko Haram group gets to know of the tactical plan of the Nigerian army ahead of time, hence the seeming successes the group records against the military, said it is not uncommon for a traitor to exist among a group, but it is the responsibility of the leadership to fish out those whose evidence against them that they are culpable is incontrovertible.
“I am not saying there are no bad eggs among us, there are definitely a few cases where some people exhibit behaviour that is at variant with the norm, and it is not expected of them to do so. If we are able to filter among ourselves and we are able to identify such people, they may be deployed to other places. I’m not advocating for the retirement of people, except it becomes very clear that such an officer has committed an offence that requires this, but soldiers must be trusted people. Soldiers must not betray themselves, if any soldier is suspected to have this kind of inclination, the best thing is to redeploy that person away from the position to postings where he will not be an enemy to the state and his colleagues,” Jonathan said.
While commending the resilience and commitment to serve the nation and hinting on the possibility of erecting a museum where photographs of soldiers that have paid the supreme sacrifice would be displayed for the future generation, President Jonathan said the Cenotaphs “is a clear testimony the government would always remember those who served this country, especially the military and the paramilitary officers that have to be awake for us to sleep. They are in the sun, the bushes and all for us to live in peace.”
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, said the event marked the erection of a commemorative monument that serves “as a symbol of the deep gratitude of the Federal Government and the people of Nigeria and the armed forces of Nigeria in particular for the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform.”
According to Badeh, “It is in recognition of the gallantry of our military men and women that this Cenotaph has been erected to dedicated to the memories of all personnel who paid or that will pay the supreme price for the unity of this country”.
The President also decorated 10 officers with the Operation Zoman Lafiya Medal of Merit for gallantry and committed service to the nation.

A TEXT OF A PRESS BRIEFING ON THE UNVELIING OF PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AND JIMI KAYODE AGBAJE AS THE PDP PRESIDENTIAL AND GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES FOR NIGERIA AND LAGOS STATE RESPECTIVELY BY ENGR SUNDAY EKANEM ON TUESDAY,13TH JANUARY, 2015."
All protocol observed.
It is with great pleasure that, on behalf of the executive committee, Board of Trustees (B.O.T) and the entire members of the South South PDP Forum, Lagos, I welcome you all to this august occasion/press conference for the unveiling of Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Jimi Agbaje, as the flagbearers of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in both the presidential and gubernatorial elections slated for the 14th and 28th of February 2015 respectively.
Before enumerating the innumerable achievements of the present PDP-led government of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, entitling him to vie for a second-term, we consider it necessary to clarify and evaluate recent policy statements, scathing campaign tirades and debilitating falsehood that the main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been peddling so as to score cheap political points heading to the general elections, few weeks from now.
APC DECEITFUL CAMPAIGNS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL
Granted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a useful counterpoise to the Peoples Democratic Congress (PDP) in the Nigeria Political landscape, it is nonetheless capricious, that it predicated the thrust of its Campaign on two germane issues of grave national importance viz :
I. That APC government led by Gen. Mohammadu Buhari will, if voted into power, fight and eradicate corruption in Nigeria with immediate effect.
II. That it will also put a final stop to insurgency once elected by Nigerians to form the government at the centre.
In determining whether such Campaign promises are realizable or not, it is only expedient that we look critically at the personality of the APC presidential candidate, Gen Mohammadu Buhari, whether he has the right pedigree and capacity to deliver on his promises or is merely playing to the gallery to deceive Nigerians since it is common knowledge that no one can give what he does not have, just as it is also impossible to place something on nothing.
THE GEN. MOHAMMADU BUHARI WE ALL KNOW
It is common knowledge that Gen. Buhari is a four time presidential candidate of three different opposition parties in this country in the preceding 16 years after ruling Nigeria between 1983 – 1985 as a military Head of state when he toppled a democratically elected government of President Shehu Shagari, thereby re-instituting and extending military rule in the country. This singular act does not portray Gen. Buhari, as an enemy of democracy and adversary of the rule of law but also a man obsessed with greedy ambition for power. How can a man that forcefully truncate democracy in the country under questionable circumstances suddenly be regarded as the beacon of democracy and an icon of anti-corruption crusade? We consider the act as anti-democratic as well as a clear act of corruption.
So, the Gen. Buhari we know is not as HOLY and IMPECCABLE as the APC and his supporters would have Nigerians believe. To believe this hoax of a story, one wonders the indictment of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) headed by Bhurai as the Executive Chairman for over-invoicing and contract inflation by Dr Haroun-led management committee that investigated the rot in the PTF in 1999. In fact, according to the report of the committee under the strangle-hold of Buhari, was allegedly accused of mismanaging and defrauding the Federal Government of the of over N25.7 billion with the aid of the Consultancy group known as Afri-Projects Consortium (APC), a company contracted by Gen. Buhari as management and project consultants. This much, Gen Buhari’s party man, Mallam Nasr El- Rufai admitted in his book called “Accidental Public Servant” when he testified about the Kastina Boys.
The image being peddled by Gen. Buhari and his spin-doctors, to the effect that once he returns to power, he will fight and eradicate corruption in Nigeria is but a fable knowing that the same Gen. Buhari, could not account for a stolen N2.8 billion under his watch as the Minister of Petroleum, in 1978. And it is amazing that when a Senate Probe Panel led by Late Senator Olusola Saraki, later traced the said money to a London Bank Account, from where it later vanished completely until date yet we are told Gen. Bhuari has zero tolerance for corruption and he is impeccable in character as well as having the magic wand to curb corruption in the country.
GEN. BUHARI’S STANCE ON INSURGENCY.
It is to us flattering to hear that Gen. Mohammadu Buhari has promised Nigerians that he will put an end to insurgency in the North East/ North Central if elected as President. Besides, if not laughable, I wonder what else it is, considering the fact that his past commentaries on the state of the nation and on insurgency in the Northern states by the extremist Islamic radical fundamentalist group, Boko Haram, portray him as sympathetic towards Boko Haram and its cause.
We want Nigerians to judge if a man who has made inflammatory statements as the following is fit to put an end to this wave of terrorism in the country:
I. That “an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North” – which he made last year.
II. That “Muslims should only vote for Muslims” .
That “why should Christians be concerned when Muslims cut off their limbs under Sharia.
That “I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria”.
That “God willing we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the sharia in the country” to mention but a few.
Does a whose inflammatory and inciting statements prior to, during and after the presidential elections in 2011, led to the massive Killings and destructions in the North be considered as president?. More so, when it is common knowledge that he had not deemed it fit to condemn the perpetrators of these heinous acts until recently when it became obvious that he was going to run for the office of the President.
“What is paramount to Nigerians is for Gen. Buhari to present his blue print and road map on how to tackle and fight the insurgency since it is on record that during his stint as the Head of State he failed abysmally to equip and train our Armed Forces despite the huge defence appropriations of that era.
PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN’S GOODLUCK TO NIGERIA: A FARCE OR REALITY.
The Peoples Democratic Party Government of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has brought enormous goodluck and blessings to Nigeria so much so that the Nigeria economy has today blossomed, become more robust, competitive and the toast of global economic pundits and business leaders. Permit me to enumerate a few of such milestone achievements of President Dr. G. E. Jonathan and by extension, the PDP, as recorded in nearly four years of the life of this administration.
1. Rebasing of the Nation’s economy last year which placed its value at N510 Billion making Nigeria the African colossus so far ahead of South Africa with N370 Billion.
2. Giving 1.5 million farmers access to subsidized seeds and fertilizers via Mobile Phones and the development of E-Wallet system.
3. Completed the development of a sugar master plan and aided the construction of New rice mills with over 72,000 M/T capacity in Enugu and Ebonyi and that has make us a major rice exporter in the continent.
4. The unbundling of PHCN and pragmatic implementation of the power sector road map for the total privatization of the generation and distribution aspects.
5. 33% appointments at the federal executive level for women in line with the affirmative action in federal appointments.
6. Construction of over 651km of roads paved with Bitumen including Apapa – Oshodi Expressway, Benin- Ore- Shagamu Expressway, Abuja- Abaji- Lokoja dualisation, Kano- Maiduguri dualisation, Onitsha- Owerri Expressway, just to mention but a few.
In a nutshell, it is not enough for Gen. Buhari and the APC to boast that they will revamp Nigerian economy, create jobs, award scholarship in all tiers of education in the country etc, they can do better by producing a road map and blue-print of how they intend to go about these issues.
THE MANY SINS OF THE APC GOVERNMENT IN LAGOS STATE
Today, we are unveiling to you Jimi Agbaje, a qualified pharmacist, industrialist, philanthropist, devout Christian and a true son and indigene of Ikorodu Royal House in Lagos state, as the Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Lagos and not a counterfeit Lagosian as claimed by some other gubernatorial candidates in Lagos State. The choice of Jimi Agbaje by the PDP is borne out of the need to present a credible candidate that will reposition Lagos state.
The PDP in Lagos state is intent on forming the next Government in order to halt the slide into anarchy. And many atrocities (sins) of the APC led-government of Barr. Babatunde Fashola, who against all odds and professional ethics has become more audacious, vicious and less stateman-ly in his vitriolic attack on the person of President Goodluck Jonathan, unmindful of the need to first remove the Log in his own eyes before attempting to remove that in others.
If we have to recount the many sins of the APC Government in Lagos state we won’t leave here today nonetheless we will mention but a few viz:
Entrenching a policy of continuing multiple taxation of Lagosians in virtually all spheres of human endeavor.
Indiscriminate and unlawful deportation of non – Yorubas speaking resident in Lagos.
Unprecedented exploitation, violation and infringement of the rights of non-Yorubas in Lagos.
Deceitful repossession, displacement, demolition of shops and markets owned and populated predominantly by non - Yoruba s indigenes in Lagos state, without fashioning out any alternatives,
Arbitrary and incessant raid, arrest, detention and imprisonment of street hawkers, traders, artisans (most of whom are non – Yoruba indigenes eking out a living in Lagos and without recourse to the provision of any form of legal representation for such victims.
Arbitrary increase in school fees of LASU students by as much as 3000% while remaining impervious to pleas for reconsideration not until some protesting students had suffered fatally in the process and the government was faced with the reality of a backlash in the coming general elections, before she recapitulated, and the imposition of discriminatory fees at LASU, on non-Yoruba’s and on courses labeled as more superior
Insensitive tolling of bridges, roads etc
The contracting of every department of medical services in state owned hospitals to their cronies whilst making same clumsy, cumbersome and fraught with unbelievable bureaucracy that often leads to untimely deaths of those on emergency.
Allocation of proto-types houses and lay-outs to themselves and their cronies to the exclusion of non- Yoruba indigenes.
Undue harassment, intimidation and blackmail of her political opponents by way of seal-up their premises for trumped up charges of unpaid land use tax, breach of environment laws etc; a case in point being that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.
Executives recklessness in the arrest of motor- bike riders (popularly known as Okada) on routes hitherto earmarked for their use and the subsequent seizure and crushing of tens of thousands of motor – bike owned by non – Yoruba indigenes thereby throwing thousands into the unemployment market.
Selective construction of model school buildings in mostly high – brow neighborhoods and at other times besides schools that still house pupils in obsolete and dilapidated buildings where they are made to squat or stand and under leaking roofs.
Vicious and gangster-like operational style of LASTMA officials which has resulted in several untimely deaths for genuine and perceived traffic offenders on Lagos roads especially bus drivers and conductors.
Foisting a regime of unabated corruption on Lagosians via the perennial concessioning of E – IGR consultancy in Lagos state for close to sixteen years to a company called Alpha Beta, purportedly owned by one of the APC leaders, without due regards to periodic ‘’ tendering and bidding processes’’ that would have made for such concessions to be credible; wherefore large sums of Lagos tax – payers money is paid out as questionable consultancy fees.
Infact the list of APC sins in Lagos is endless.
The choice of Jimi Agbaje by the South South PDP and her indigenes in Lagos, is borne out of the need to present a credible candidate that will assuage the yearnings of Lagosians for a humane, ingenious and economically sound indigene to take over as the new helmsman at Alausa, the seat of Government
It is in the light of above that we are calling on all Lagosians, Arewas, Ndi – Igbos, south – southerners, middle-Belters etc. to join hands with Jimi Agbaje and the PDP to kick out the present shambolic APC Government of Gov. Fashola for her malicious, elitist, inept policies that have made her detached from the masses of our people who voted her into power years back. If we must enthrone probity, professionalism, accountability, respectability, people oriented programs, vision, enterprise, digitalism, youthfulness, even distribution of resources and infrastructure, recognition of non- Yoruba’s, excellence etc. into the art of governance in Lagos State come 29th May, 2015. vote Jimi Agbaje, vote PDP, vote Jonathan come 2015
GENERAL ELECTIONS: We use this medium to call on our sons and daughters in the South South Political zone especially Rivers State and Akwa Ibom, to vote massively for all the PDP candidates. We want to appeal to our people to visit the nearest INEC PVC collection centres to collect their PVC’s without which nobody can vote.
Thank you all for your time and for honouring our invitation at short notice. Happy New Year

Agbaje promises to scrap Lekki-Epe tollgate, Tinubu, Fashola warn Lagosians to shun PDP"
THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has promised to cancel the controversial Lekki-Epe tollgate, if elected into office.
Speaking during an interactive session with the Muslim community in Lagos yesterday, Agbaje hinged his plan to cancel the Lekki-Epe tollgate on the fact that the tollgate is untenable, as it is standing on an existing road.
The PDP governorship candidate however, disclosed that the tool on the Lekki Phase 1 inner bridge would remain, in view of the fact that the construction of the bridge started from scratch by the concessionaire company.
Agbaje, who was accompanied by his Deputy, Alhaja Safurat Abdulkareem, commended Governor Babatunde Fashola for some of the successes recorded in the state but he averred that Lagos was in urgent need of change and not continuity.
He also assured his Muslim hosts, who included the National Missioner of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheik Abdurahman Ahmad, that the problem of allowing Muslim children to wear the hijab veil to school would be solved through a synergy between the state and the mosque

*Let's say NO to Asiwaju Tinubu.

2. A man that's believed to be one of the richest men in Africa and the whole world.
3. A man that's tactically taken over public properties in Lagos State and converted them to personal use.
4. A man whose identity is still a mystery.
5. The only man that hasn't got a known or verifiable classmate.
6. The man that's more interested in service and loyalty to himself from elected office holders than to the electorates.
7. A man with wicked pasts etc.
8. A man that believes the whole of Lagos is in his pouch and as such can do as he pleases.
9. A wicked and self centered man that sees and treats Lagosians as fools
10. A money sucking monster that's older than his age etc
From Tinubu (Iragbiji in Osun State) to BRF (Ado in Ekiti State) and now to Ambode (Ilaje in Ondo State), where are the core Lagosians? Lagosians, wake up and let's resist this wicked arrangement. For how long are we going to allow the entire system of Lagos to be foolishly managed by Tinubu? The class-mateless man? Let's wake up!!!

We Are Ready For Elections – PDP Says APC Guilty Of Hacking
We Are Ready For Elections – PDP Says APC Guilty Of Hacking
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is fully prepared for the 2015 general elections, observing that the support it enjoys among Nigerians from the ward to the national levels is a sure guarantee to victory.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Monday described APC’s allegations of plots to postpone the elections as a tactics to divert attention from the findings of the State Security Services (SSS) that it has devised means to hack into INEC’s data base, clone the Permanent Voter’s Card and ultimately compromise the outcome of the elections.
The PDP said nothing can be more evident that the APC is not preparing to face the electorates than the frivolous and unfounded allegations and use of propaganda in an effort to hoodwink Nigerians even in the face of clear proof of culpability.
“The PDP is fully ready for the coming elections. Our leaders and members are working hard in all the nooks and crannies of the country leveraging on our existing grass roots appeal, wide-spread political structures, a track-record of performance and abiding affinity and loyalty to the people.
“We have very popular and acceptable hard working candidates which the people are anxious to vote for. Our Presidential flagbearer, President Goodluck Jonathan with verifiable achievements and commitment to national unity remains the candidate the beat.
“We have engaged on issue-based campaigns. We have effectively shown Nigerians that we can be trusted. Our amiable leader, President Jonathan has demonstrated strength of character, sincerity of purpose in his handling of state affairs and Nigerians are desirous to demonstrate their support for him come February 14.
“The PDP has successfully communicated its unique selling points and achievements to the electorates and a greater majority of Nigerians are now able to distinguish between facts and mere propaganda, which is the hallmark of the APC.
“Our advise to the APC is that instead of engaging in distortion of facts and propagating of lies and blackmail in an attempt to score cheap political point, they should explain to Nigerians their apparent involvement in efforts to undermine INEC records with a view to corrupt the electoral process.

Olisa Metuh

Refrain from Inflammatory Rhetorics, US Cautions Nigeria's Leadership, Aspirants"
The United States has urged the nation's political leadership and aspirants to elective offices to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric and supporting acts of intimidation ahead of the general elections barely a month away.
This is as it called on political parties and the Nigerian government to ensure that all registered voters are able to freely participate in the upcoming polls in a peaceful and transparent manner.
These were contained in the opening remarks of Ambassador of the United States to Nigeria, James Entwistle at a workshop on "Community Reporting for Building of Democratic Values in the Run-up to the 2015 General Elections” for journalists in Kaduna, Monday.
He noted that the elections present a golden opportunity for the country to demonstrate its commitment to democratic values and institutions. "The United States strongly supports a free, transparent, credible, inclusive, and non-violent electoral process. We continue to call upon all Nigerians to refrain from advocating, fomenting, or condoning violence before, during, or after the elections," he said.
"Nigeria’s friends and allies around the world also are deeply invested in helping to ensure that the 2015 elections are free, fair, peaceful, and credible. Throughout the electoral process, international audiences also will rely on you (reporters) for timely, accurate, and insightful reporting that will reflect whether those goals are being met," the envoy added.
Entwistle emphasised that good journalism is important to the electoral process and elections
